IDEA FOR STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
USE PROCESSING CARDS
USE PROCESSING CARDS
How it works:
- Give students a processing card (see top of the blog!). These cards can be made on index cards, or folded tent that say "Ready to Share" on one side and "Still Thinking" on the other.
- Ask students to place the card on the edge of their desks. The "Still Thinking "side should be placed up or outward.
- When students are ready to respond to question or have completed the task they should turn the card to the "Ready to Share" side or view.
- Have an activity for the student to complete while waiting for others to be ready to share.
- This activity is best used when students have been asked to reflect or complete a task that requires more than 5-10 minutes.

Looking to next year!!!
It is time for us to order our study books for next year. Instead of reading a book over the summer we thought we would read educational texts during the school year and discuss ideas in LTM's. We would like your input. The books we are considering have been placed on the table in the 3rd grade lounge. If you are interested in providing input into the books we read please take time to visit the lounge next week and vote on your top choices. Thanks.
