INTERIM PROGRESS REPORT REVIEW
Thanks to everyone for turning in their interim progress review analysis sheets. We were greatly impressed with the time and effort placed in completing these forms. They are very informative for us. Below are a few general thoughts regarding items addressed in the forms.
1) For those experiencing difficulty contacting parents please make sure you are contacting the school social worker for assistance. Mrs. Choplin will send her a listing of the names that appeared on the sheets and ask for assistance. The school social worker is Andrea Taylor.
2) Children do not have to be "failed". They may be given multiple attempts to retake a test and past. The same is true for projects and homework. Think about it this way the state gives us multiple attempts to pass the driving test. It is not an all or nothing thing!!! Our ultimate goal is for the children to learn and be successful.
3) If it has been 6 weeks since your last parent conference or contact and a child is still struggling greatly please contact the parent. If you cannot reach them by telephone write a letter and mail it to them. Mrs. Perez and Mrs. Savid can translate them for you if necessary.
4) Don't forget SAT is a resource for help. Just because you refer a student to SAT does not mean you are referring for special education. It means you are working with a group of your colleagues to try to find a solution for a child.
We thank you for all your hard work and dedication. If you need us to assist you in any way please let us know.
