Thank you for the hard work you do each and everyday. Our students are fortunate to have you guiding them through their educational journey. Take this time of year as a time to start fresh with your students. Bring in the new year like it's the 2nd half of a football game. Give the students, your teammates and yourself a pep talk, remind them of the procedures for your class, interact with students as if it is the first day of school. These types of positive messages will surely reignite everyone's desire to learn and be successful.
Once again thank you for all you do and "GO TEAM OLD TOWN"!

UPCOMING EVENTS/REMINDERS

PBIS Meeting: January 20th meeting cancelled. Rescheduled for January 27

January 24- SIT meeting
January 28- Emergency Lesson plans are due to Mr. Wall. If you know that you have used your plans previously please update them ASAP.
January 31- Newsletters & Contact Logs are due to Mrs. Choplin

REPORT CARD REVIEW: Report cards are due to your assigned administrator for review by 3:00pm on January 27, 2011. Mrs. Choplin will review grades 1, 3, & 5. Mr. Wall will review grades K, 2, 4.

POSITIVE PARENT CONTACTS: Two positive contacts a week should be made by all teaching staff. The contacts may be note or telephone call. If it is a note just jot down the date and comment it was a note. It is wonderful that everyone is using the logs to maintain all contacts. This is clear evidence that we are seeking parent involvement with our students.

LESSON PLANS: All teachers should post their lesson plans on the "s" drive by Monday morning at 7:45 am. This includes specialist, ESL, Waterford, etc. We use the plans to answer questions we may have during walk-throughs and observations.

SAFETY: All classroom doors should be locked at all times. Safety bags should be taken with classes everywhere they go during the day. Review your lock down procedures as we will have a drill in the near future.

MANIPULATIVE'S: We would like to encourage everyone to continue using a many manipulative and hands on activities with students as possible.

SOCIAL NETWORKING: This is just a reminder that teachers should not befriend students on any social networking site unless they are an employee's child, grandchild, sibling, cousin, niece or nephew. This practice should also include placing pictures of your students on any site.

SIOP LANGUAGE OBJECTIVES: Every teacher should post language objectives for reading and math with their EQ's. If you have questions please let Rosie Turner know. I am sure she or any member of the ESL team would be more than happy to guide you in developing the language goal.
