UPCOMING EVENTS/ REMINDERS:
  • Remember to use the End-of-Year Checklist.  In the next few weeks items will be due daily.
  • DISCIPLINE:  When sending students to the office for disciplinary action remember to send the D1 or the two pages documentation for repeated offenses.  Students sent to the office without correct paperwork will be returned to class with a request for correct paperwork.
  • Student misbehavior often increases at this time of year remember to strictly enforce PBIS rules in classroom and when in the hallways.  Use Eagle Bucks to reinforce excellent behavior.  
  • It is critical that ALL staff members arrive on time during the last few weeks of school.  Teachers should be in their classrooms at 7:25 am.  This will allow you to be present when students enter the classroom.  Leaving students alone can lead to disciplinary issues. 
  • Students sent to the office for illness should bring a note with them with reason for office referral and telephone numbers to contact home.
  • June 4- PBIS luncheons.  Mrs. Aldret will provide the winning classes with details
  • ADD TO END OF YEAR CHECKLIST--- Turn in pink/lavender notebook to Mrs. Harvey before leaving for the summer.

UPDATES/REMINDERS:
  • Students should be at zero level at all times when walking in the hallway including dismissal time. 
  • May 22- Award's list is due to Mrs. Duggins
  • Boys' bathrooms should be monitored closely.  Please check the bathrooms prior to your class entering and before leaving to return to your classrooms.
  • It is the end of  the year and is a time when we can sometimes become frustrated with our students. Please refrain from yelling/screaming/talking down to your students.  This is not appropriate behavior and does not set a school example for our students.  Treat your students as you would want your own child treated.

Coverage for Classroom/Morning Duty will begin at 7:25am.  The following is a list of coverage:
  • Mrs. Beamer will cover for Mrs. Winikoff.
  • Mrs. Huppert will cover Mrs. Beamer's morning duty.
  • Ms. Hanks will cover for Mrs. Lea at 7;25 and then take the class to her classroom for science special.
  • Mrs. Carter will cover for Mrs. Becerra.
  • Mrs. Y. Norris will cover for Mrs. Harrelson
  • Mrs. Harvey will cover for Mrs. Culp.

The entire third grade team, office staff, Mrs. Maine  and Dr. Davis for assisting with our student who needed medical attention on Thursday afternoon.   A special thanks to Mrs. Copenhaver for riding in the ambulance with the student and Mrs. Sprinkle for locating the child's mother.  This was a true team effort and everyone's participation was appreciated.

Week April 23rd -April 27th

KUDOS TO: Mrs. McKinney, the 2nd Grade Teaching Team & the specialists for their hard work and dedication to their students. The PTA presentation was FANTASTIC! We believe it is the largest crowd we have had in years. Everyone that assisted with the kindergarten screening on Wednesday, April 18th. It was very well organized and we believe all the parents felt welcomed. Mr. Sealey, the specialists, classroom teachers in grades 3-5 and everyone else that participated in the BUG Soccer Day. The students had a blast! Congratulations to Jennifer Spillman, Lisa Greenwood and their mentors. These ladies have almost completed thier first year in the education field. These accomplishments were recognized at the End-of-Year STAY Celebration on Monday, April 16th. Award's Day was a huge success. Thanks to Mrs. Duggins and Mrs. Savid for preparing all the awards. They were fantastic!

ITBS TESTING BEGINS TODAY for GRADES K-2.  PRT's are involved with testing so their schedule are tight and will vary day to day.
UNCF KICKOFF TODAY--- Mr. Wall is our contact.  If you feel lead please donate to this most important cause.

2:45- SIT Meeting in Mrs. Mercer's classroom.  If the grade level representataive cannot attend please send a substitute.

ITBS make-up  testing will take place today.
Last day to complete the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey.  If you have not completed the survey please see Mary Davis for directions.
12:00- AR luncheon for students in grades 3-5.  These are the students that have met their lunch on campus goal.  Ms. Barber/Mrs. Clark will send out additional information.

REMINDERS:
  • April 30- Newsletters and Parent Contacts are due to Mrs. Choplin.
  • May 2- Old Town Volunteer Luncheon will be held in the media center.
  • May 3- Transfer fair will be held at North Forsyth High School at 4:00pm
  • May 7- Staff meeting at 2:45.
  • Teachers in grades 3-5 should use calculators for all mathematic activities.
  • All personne should be in their classrooms or at their duty posts at 7:25.  If you are going to be late please contact the office.

9:45 2nd Grade Dress Rehearsal in the Auditorium. Mr. Wall sent teachers a seating chart on Friday, April 13th. ALL STAFF MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THIS PERFORMANCE. All students will be in the auditorium at one time.

AR special reward for students in grades 3-5. Mrs. Clark will provide information regarding this activity.

  • Certified Staff members remember to complete your intent forms for next year and to complete the NC Teachers Working Condition survey if you have not done so already. We are at 75% complete!!!! We need 20 more folks to complete the survey. Thanks for your help in this most important matter.
