UPDATES/REMINDERS:

• Intent forms for full-time certified teachers are available for completion on the school website. Please complete by April 18th.


• Teacher working condition survey- for certified staff members. If you did not complete the NC Teacher Working Condition Survey on March 28th please make sure to do so ASAP. Ms. Mary Davis has access codes for any teacher that did not receive on March 28th.


• All teachers should be in their classrooms and prepared to greet students by 7;25am. If you are going to be late please contact the office.


• Field Trips: If you have a student that cannot pay for his/her field trip please let Mrs. Choplin know prior to the trip. There are a couple of funding sources available to assist students in need.


• Report cards are due to your assigned administrator by 3:00pm on April 11th. (Mrs. Choplin K/2/4---- Mr. Wall (1/3/5).

**** Mrs. Duggins would like for you to submit your award's day list with as many of the names completed as possible. She will work on the certificates during break. We realize that you many not have the honor roll ready but if you can give her form with names of outstanding citizens, etc. she can work complete these certificates. The list with awards not listed/completed will be returned to you for completion. Please see if us if you have questions about this format of completing the awards.

UPDATES/REMINDERS:

• Updates are made to the blog weekly and sometimes daily. Please review daily to have the most up to date information of events in our school.


• Classroom teachers are scheduled to be arrive each day at 7:25 and should be in their classrooms to greet children each morning. Students should not be left unattended in the hallways. If you are going to be late please contact the office so we can find coverage.


• Grade chairs - submit the name of your grade level country for the cultural fair this week.


• March madness math activities are scheduled for March 29th.


• Dismissal time continues to be the time frame in which we as as school have the highest discipline referrals. Students should continue to walk in a straight line and at zero voice level while in the hall. This is true for the bus parking lot as well. Please do not walk through the playground beside the gym. A work order has been placed for a sidewalk to be poured from the pavement to the back gym door.

March to May Class Merit Race!

Two winning categories:
1) Most Class Merits earned all year, and
2) Most Class Merit growth from March 1st - May 31st.

Student Incentive: The winning class in each category will be treated to a Luau Lunch of pizza, fruity drinks, and lots of fun!

To enter the race, please put your total Class Merits earned so far this year in the February column on the Class Merit Running Total Sheet in the PBIS folder on the S Drive by Friday, March 2nd.

So no one is accidentally left out of the running, an e-mail will be sent to classroom teachers on Monday, March 5th, to verify their totals.

We would like to wish Ms. Amanda Knight a fond farewell. She has accepted a position in Hilton Head Island, SC. We wish you well in your new journey!

Welcome to Ms. Frenetta Miller! Ms. Miller will begin working with Ms. Trapani and the entire kindergarten/first grade team on Monday, February 27, 2012. We are glad to welcome you to the Old Town Family.

From the PBIS Committee

Specialists will start putting their own completed Discipline Logs in teachers' boxes. Please send them home in Wednesday folders. Thank you!

Safety Patrol members will start giving out "coupons" to students who are SOARING in the hallways. Classroom teachers are asked to "redeem" these coupons with an Eagle Buck. Thanks!

Friday, February 24th, is "Mismatch Day." Blank Dress-Up Day Permission forms were put in teachers' boxes for students who choose to participate.
